Generosity Is Our Privilege

We are a people who give to expand God’s kingdom with hearts of appreciation and anticipation.

Generosity: What We Believe

1. Giving is one of the most transformative things in the life of a believer.
“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.” Philippians 4:17 (NKJV)

2. When we give, we never lose. When we give to God through our church, He does more with our finances than we could ever do when we keep it all.
“And try Me now in this, Says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)
3. Giving involves growing. A Christ-follower should be growing in generosity throughout life (beyond giving the tithe, 10%)
Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.” Mark 12:43-44 (MSG)

Total Money Makeover

Do you want to build a budget that actually works for you? Are you ready to transform your relationship with money? This New York Times bestseller has already helped millions of people just like you learn how to develop everyday money-saving habits with the help of America's favorite finance coach, Dave Ramsey.

The Treasure Principle

Jesus spent more time talking about money and possessions than about heaven and hell combined. But too often we’ve overlooked or misunderstood his most profound teaching on this topic, from his words in Matthew 6. Jesus offers us life-changing investment advice. He actually wants us to store up treasures for ourselves—just not here on earth. Instead, he urges us to store our treasure in heaven, where they will await us, and last forever. We can’t take it with us—but we can send it on ahead!

Endowment Fund

Northview's Endowment Fund is held and administered by the FM Area Foundation.

There are two options available for those wanting to contribute to Northview's endowment fund:

  • When writing a check, the check should be made payable to the FM Area Foundation with Northview Church Endowment Fund in the memo line and sent directly to the FM Area Foundation. (409 7th St. S, Fargo, ND 58103)
  • If giving online follow this link – Northview Church Endowment Fund. The link will take you to our page within the FM Area Foundation giving portal. This contribution option does require a 3% credit card processing fee.

If you are a North Dakota resident, you can make a contribution to an endowment fund, such as Northview's, with a minimum annual contribution of $5,000 and receive a credit of 40% off of your ND income taxes (a $5,000 contribution would provide a $2,000 credit).  It is best, of course, to consult your tax advisor, if you were to consider such a contribution, to determine how it would impact both your federal and state tax situation.

We will not keep a record of these contributions and they will not appear on giving statements from Northview. All reporting will be done through the FM Area Foundation and you will receive a receipt from the FM Area Foundation to use to file your tax returns.
